Baby Nina’s Day Out
Now that I’m not working, I’m engaging in some creative pursuits. John’s encouraged me to try my hand at comics. This is my first attempt. I actually drew this one back in June, but I didn’t ink it until yesterday. Rather than comics, what I really want to do is write and illustrate a children’s book. I’m going to take an evening class on this subject at SVA, starting later this month. And this weekend, I’m going to take Nina to the Brooklyn Book Festival to hear a reading by Mo Willems, whose books I love.

O my goodness. Two such artistic parents. I had no idea Nina’s mom was so talented, too! I’m looking forward to a Woods children’s book!
On the sleeping–since Tashi was a fall/winter baby, and even though I made a point of going out (or else I’d go crazy), we definitely had her napping at home–but had to transition her from bouncy to crib. But once we made the switch, I also noticed she slept better, as the sleep books promise.
I know what you mean about worrying they feel reassured that they’re okay in the crib–but since she sleeps at night there fine, it’s just a little step to make it so she sleeps there during the day, too. Then you get to transition to the tyranny of the nap.
